Colour pairings & usage tips

Use these colours.

Choose a primary colour to repeat across the design, a secondary for supporting graphics, and quieter tones for reading areas. The five swatches are options, not an automatic role assignment.

Text & contrast.

A colour used in a mark may not work as a button label. Check the label against its actual fill and choose a separate reading pair when the brand accents are too close in luminance.

A pairing to start with.

In Sapphire & Pearl, #1A1917 against #FAFAF9 has a contrast ratio of 16.82:1. This pair meets the WCAG AA contrast threshold for normal text. This checks opaque colours only; other pairings, transparency and gradients need their own checks.

The five swatches span 21–98% OKLCH lightness. Try different colour roles in the palette generator.
